So I looked you up and am so glad to have found you!

Daniel and I live in Seattle with two boys, Jed (15) and Elisha (12) and, at the moment, one red-bellied froad. We have been in Seattle since 1991, where we went so that I could work on a doctorate at the University of Washington (finished in 1998--with birth of eldest a month earlier).

It is so very lovely to be here. City life suits us; there is much to see, much to smell, much to listen to, plus we like coffee a good deal.

I wonder where Birdland is.

We are glad for your lives and how they have touched us, and are glad to know your journeys have strengthened you and brought you to go both separately, then back together again.

Good to see your faces!

Blessings, Julene PommertAnonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08310848068400409520noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3522998597102526360.post-36959793436484346982013-03-13T13:21:16.686-07:002013-03-13T13:21:16.686-07:00Mary,

We are now back together and happier than ever. We both needed to work on ourselves apart for a while and like you said, some things as you so beautifully stated here "Maybe we tossed one or two to the wind to ride the jet stream. Maybe some burned to ashes in a bonfire and floated up with sparks to the sky." had changed. So happy that you have found each other again. Sometimes we just need to step away and see our partners again as we did in the beginning. I wanted to comment on your description o...Hi Mary. I wanted to comment on your description of five little kids running around the yard chasing fireflies....

40 years ago or thereabouts, there were 4 other little kids running around that same yard chasing fireflies. Back then, the "spinney of woods" bore an abundance of hedge apples and provided shade to a pasture of hogs and horses. Without the second house (Catherine's) being there, the driveway seemed miles longer than it is now, at least to the eight little legs that tredged down it to meet the school bus, or navigated their first bike rides and spills up and down from the road to the house.
My three brothers and I spent a few of our most formative years on that property as well, and while it looks much different today than it did those 40 years ago, it still holds a myriad of memories for me. It's nice to see all the plantings you've posted, and I'm glad you've found such peace and happiness there.

Sincerely, Peggy Klausnergobbomomhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00608240772605276111noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3522998597102526360.post-46652822399576293282012-05-02T14:02:01.671-07:002012-05-02T14:02:01.671-07:00what a fun, imaginative, and cheerful piece of wri...what a fun, imaginative, and cheerful piece of writing! Here in SW FL for the winter, I started onion sets and bought veg plants on the way south in December. We've been eating salads of all sorts from my earth box and the big pots around the motor home. Not ideal, but better and fresher than from any store. Ah, Spring!
